Practice matters. Practices matter, too. Each part.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

What you may be used to is testimonial pats on the back—you-scratch-my-back-I-scratch-yours style—from those who’ve deemed one another industry Who’s Who. This self perpetuating cycle becomes standard or status quo for “good” marketing. And hey, it works! But it can be a bit of misdirection for the student who will actually then take the material. It also poses other educators as the main event, as the leaders. Not the students.

At DV8 we believe firmly that in a true school, the students are center stage, they drive the education. Our ‘what’, our ‘why’, and our ‘who’—the students are our roots—and have been from day one.

So, while we’ve got high profile (but non-student) industry nods in the file, you won’t find one of them here. What you will find are all completely unsolicited words by message or post from actual DV8 students of Phil Scarito and the DV8 educational event experience over the last many decades. You won’t even find one derived from course follow-up evaluation. All real, all organic, all self started, and all students.

When the game is skewed in a direction that doesn’t make sense to the goal, change it.

We invite you to take a look, and we look forward to seeing you here one day as well.

“This has been excellent! The exact framework I was hoping you’d create. One that solved the bell path problem, one that taught how to manage force instead of using brute force, and one that taught how to integrate with the ground better instead of leaving it at the static stop deadlift which had no carryover to any of the ballistics.”

— Jason, on DV8 Method & Kettlebell Teaching Certification

“Can I just say how awesome, interactive, and high level this is.”

— Emiliano, on DV8 Virtual Kettlebell Teaching Certification

“… I started to question and learn about my own integrity. It never crossed my mind what that term actually meant for me in me life because I’m ‘just’ a coach. As a coach, daughter, friend, and human being it’s time that I do not compromise my morals to fit in or out of fear of being alone. Integrity is now something I hold great value for especially as a coach responsible for helping others be their strongest and most free self.”

— Katia, on DV8 Coaching Certification and DV8 Practice

“Feeling extremely grateful from this past weekend’s @dv8fitness Virtual Kettlebell Teaching Certification. Thank you @philscarito for providing a welcoming and respectable environment that set the grounds for a wonderful learning experience. Being surrounded by incredible coaches was truly inspiring, and I’m looking forward to applying all of the new knowledge I have obtained over the weekend.”

— Ashley, on DV8 Certification

“Practicing my @dv8fitness skills. Though I’ve done thousands of hardstyle reps over the years, I’ve seen great improvement in my technique since being introduced to this.”

— Denzel, on DV8 Practice

“I’ve gotten many certs through the years but most just prove you can take a test. I’m most proud of this one.”

— Hayden, on DV8 Teaching Certification

“Jason and I have been kettlebell instructors for nearly 10 years now [as of 2020], but to this day every single time we have the opportunity to watch @philscarito coach, we learn something new. He has a huge influence on the way we conduct ourselves as coaches, and I’m forever grateful … If you’re a coach who’s been wanting to not only learn how to use kettlebells yourself, but also have all the tools you need to help your clients learn how to use them as quickly and efficiently as possible, you should absolutely check out the DV8 certification!”

— Lauren, on DV8 Coaching and Teaching Practice & Certification

“Way more than my family in strength... This strength is immeasurable.”

— Kent, on DV8

“I always had some issues with that ‘hard style’, hands would rip every time I’d do any volume on snatches, couldn’t keep the bell close enough. This new way is how I wish I learned in the first place … Best strength certification out there that I have done.”

— Mike, on DV8 Method as compared to traditional Kettlebell instruction

“I’m not having to take [students] through tons of drills and cues like ‘shift weight back into your heels’ to get them swinging properly because this set up, sets them up for success!!!”

— Renee, on DV8 Method and DV8 Kettlebell Teaching Certification as compared to traditional kettlebell instruction

“I’ve been to many continuing education events over the years, and very few, if any, have had the impact the @dv8fitness certification had on me. It’s changed how I teach some key Kettlebell training concepts, but most importantly, I truly feel this organization will make the fitness world better in ways outside of just picking things up and putting them down.”

— Paul, on DV8

“ … from being told to taught…”

— Jen, on DV8 Education as compared to other fitness education experiences

“No better person to learn the OAPU from than @philscarito.”

— Jon, on Phil Scarito instruction methods & specifically here the One Arm Push-Up

“As a coach I have fundamentally changed the way I teach. DV8 is an efficient system. Less time teaching drills means getting to the good stuff quickly. Overall it’s more satisfying for everyone involved.”

— Frances, on DV8 Teaching and Practice Method, DV8 Kettlebell Coaching Certification

“We are insanely lucky to have people like you who lead from the front, have compassion and empathy and live by the principles they teach 🙏 … keep rolling!!!”

— Derek, on DV8
