Frequently asked Questions about training with Kettlebells.

What kind of clothing and shoes should I wear?

Whether you are attending an outdoor class or indoor class please wear flat soled shoes, such as Puma, Addidas, Chuck Taylors,etc.  No sneakers allowed while you are using a Kettlebell.

Bring a water bottle and a towel with you as well to each class.

 

How will I start to see results from Kettlebells?

You will begin to feel stronger, your cardiovascular endurance will begin to improve, and mobility will begin to significantly increase. Your clothes will start to fit looser!

When will I start to see results from Kettlebells?

Within one to three months. Depending on the number of times a week you train and what you put into it on your off days, you will experience a different timeframe of results, but typically within this range.

Why should I train with an RKC?

A typical trainer does not go through the rigorous and demanding certification that an RKC must. Also, you CANNOT LEARN TRUE KETTLEBELL TECHNIQUE OR FORM FROM A DVD.

An RKC Instructor is bound to the RKC Code of Conduct. We all share a great passion for Kettlebells, and we want to spread the benefits to everyone who wants to learn. RKC Instructors form an elite group, taught the exact same methods and techniques. The RKC certification for an Instructor is a rigorous three day course that roughly only half the students even pass. The same certification must be completed again and again in order to maintain an Instructor status.

Do I have to keep up with the group during the session?

No, you work at your own pace.



 

Is there running in your class?

Yes, there is some running involved during the session. Sometimes I will throw in some sprints or a short distance run, 1/4 mile or less during the workout.

If I have bells, can I bring them?

Yes. Please be sure that they are properly marked with your identification. Every bell that DV8Fitness owns is a product of Dragondoor. You can purchase them at www.DragonDoor.com

What happens if it rains or snows?

Unless I’m dead, we’re having class. Next question.

How long is each session?

Each session is about an hour or so. Depending on what the instructor wants to cover during the session.

What can I expect from a typical DV8Fitness Class/Session?

This is a workout that is far from ordinary. I combine functional movement exercises with the Hardstyle method of Kettlebell training. In each class, we start with a joint mobility warm up and move on to one of the six basic Kettlebell movements (Swing, Turkish Get Up, Press, Front Squat, Clean, and Snatch).

What size bell should I use?

It depends on your fitness level, if you have any prior Kettlebell experience, and the movement we are doing at the time. I will instruct you which to use in the session.

Can anyone use a Kettlebell?

Yes. I can instruct virtually anyone, at any fitness level, and any age. Even those with prior injuries can be trained.

A Kettlebell is best described as a cannonball with a handle on it. Kettlebell training is a form of strength and conditioning that has been around for hundreds of years. It originated in Russia and has recently become very popular in the United States because of Pavel Tsatsouline’s RKC system. It works and it delivers results quickly.
